1.) If you’ve either bought an electric car, or you’re considering getting one to help the environment, you may want to rethink that purchase. A recent study, published in the Journal of Industrial Ecology at Yale University found the “global warming potential” from electric vehicles is about twice that of conventional vehicles. Researchers showed that the production of material for electric vehicles posed a challenge for recycling and could cause toxic substances to be released into the environment. And, as electricity can be generated by coal, the vehicles charged this way are expected to cause 17 to 27 percent more “global warming potential” than cars that run off of diesel or gas.
2.) Would you like a lifetime of free pizza? This coming Tuesday night, October 16th, it could be yours - if you're in the audience at the next presidential debate at Hofstra University. Pizza Hut will give that to any audience member who asks President Obama or Mitt Romney about their favorite pizza toppings. But, according to Politico, there is one catch—you can't just ask about toppings in general. You've have two options: "Sausage or pepperoni?" or "pepperoni or sausage?"
3.) The stars of one of the most famous viral videos of all time are getting their own web series. Charlie and Harry Davies-Carr were the kids in the “Charlie Bit My Finger” video, which debut in 2007 and today is the 7th most-viewed video of all-time. 5 years later, the children, who are now 6 and 8 years old, will star in an original show in a new deal with Viral Spiral, a viral video management firm. There’s no word yet as to when that series will premiere.
