1.) Annoyed that they keep delivering a phone book to your house? Once a very important part of every home, today the phone book could be considered a big waste of paper. But don’t look for the yellow pages to disappear anytime soon. A judge in Seattle has ruled that an ordinance requiring publishers to obtain permits and pay fees to distribute the books was unconstitutional, and a violation of First Amendment rights. The fees in that ordinance would have paid for a program to allow residents to opt out of getting the Yellow Pages.
2.) If you find your eyebrows challenging, ladies you too can have the eyebrows of Megan Fox or Brooke Shields. The New York Post is reporting that big eyebrows are in, so get a quick transplant using the hair on your head. The procedure was developed for burn and dog bite victims, and has been used to help male baldness. The downside to the procedure is that, unlike natural eyebrows, transplanted brows have to be trimmed because they grow at the same rate as the hair on your head … and, the $8,000 dollar price tag to get the procedure done.
3.) Last night, a million dollars on the line at the Chargers – Broncos Monday Night Football game, but it had nothing to do with football. At halftime, golfer Phil Mickelson teed it up in one end zone, looking to land his ball within 5 feet of a target in the other end zone, 100 yards away. Making that shoot would earn First Book, a non-profit organization which provides new books for children in need, a check for a million dollars. The San Diego native fired his ball well over the target and got booed by the home town crowd. But a $50,000 donation was still made to First Book, which means 20,000 new books will be handed out.
