1.)     How far would you drive for $100,000?   For a woman in Surfside, just outside of Myrtle Beach, 150 miles is too much.     The South Carolina woman, who says she’s only a local driver, hit for one hundred grand in our state lottery’s Carolina Panthers instant game.    After winning, she showed the ultimate trust in the United States Postal Service and mailed the winning $100,000 to Columbia to collect her cash and .    Everything worked out, as the lottery received her ticket.    In contrast, a few months ago a New Yorker who bought a winning ticket while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, drove 12 hours from the Big Apple to collect his $100,000 dollars.

 

2.)     That device you use to stay connected, take photos and update Facebook from wherever you are is a paradise for bacteria that can make you sick.      According to the Wall Street Journal, germs are attracted to the cozy warm screen on your smartphone, which you then put next to your face.    You’ve seen the greasy smear on your device, and where there’s grease, there are bugs.     In lab tests, alcohol was the best cleaning method but Apple and Blackberry both explicitly say not to use it to clean their products.    The good news is a new device is coming in January which uses UV light rays to kill germs without touching the phone.

 

3.)     Which of the presidential candidates would you rather have a burger with?     According to the fast food chain Smashburger, 59% of the people in their on-line poll would rather have a burger with President Obama than Mitt Romney.    And, the former presidents that Smashburger customers would most like to enjoy a burger with is Bill Clinton, selected by 22 percent of those responding.    15% said Abraham Lincoln, while Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy were mentioned by 14% in the survey.
