1.) While most 14 and 15 year olds in America are spending their time on Facebook or playing video games, 4 African teens have invented a device to help the people on their continent. As part of “Maker Faire Africa,” an event to show off innovations, inventions, and initiatives that solve immediate challenges and problems, the three 14 year olds and one 15 year old are showcasing the generator that they developed which is powered by urine. One litre of pee will be able to generate 6 hours of electricity.
2.) Thanksgiving is two weeks from today, and that holiday weekend is the most traveled weekend of the year. If you haven’t made your flight reservations yet, you better hurry. The industry group Airlines for America has predicted that 24 million people will fly over the next two weeks, with planes close to 90% full on the busiest days around Thanksgiving. Those days will be Wednesday, November 21st, and Sunday, November 25th, the final day of the holiday weekend, which is expected to be the busiest travel day of the entire year.
3.) While there are many different opinions on the results of Tuesday’s Presidential election, there are results that should frighten everyone. In Florida, Alabama and Texas, dead people all won election. 96 year old Earl K Wood died of natural causes a few weeks ago, but that didn’t stop Orange County voters from re-electing him as tax collector. In Alabama, 77 year old Charles Beasley had passed on October 12th, but was still elected to a seat on the Bibb County Commission. And, Mario Gallegos was re-elected as a Texas State Senator even though he had died last month.
