1.) If a man is given a choice between having a harem of women or a single partner, which do you think he will choose? According to the new book “Challenging Casanova: Beyond the Stereotype of the Promiscuous Young Male,” most men will pick waking up every day next to the same person. A Wake Forrest University research psychologist says his research shows men are largely interested in relationships over sex and it's actually a minority of guys who want multiple short-term partners.
2.) The internet may waste a lot of our time, but it’s also saving us a lot of money. According to a study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, broadband internet saves the average family around $8,000 a year, or about 13.5 percent of everything they spend. The savings comes from special discounts and coupons we get on-line, from saving on gas by not having to drive all over town to shop, and by providing opportunity to find the best price by comparing stores all over the county, not just locally. The biggest savings areas were in entertainment and travel.
3.) Some people will tell you the best way to serve a turkey is deep-fried. It’s also the most dangerous way to prepare your turkey. According to State Farm insurance, fire departments are called to at least 1,000 major fires or explosions because of turkey frying accidents every Thanksgiving. And those fires cause more than $15 million in property damage. Over the last 5 years, Texas had the most turkey frying incidents, while South Carolina ranked 10th in the nation in turkey frying accidents.
