1.)     One of the things that make the holidays a little more expensive is the cost of sending gifts to family and friends in other parts of the country.   That’s one reason people love Amazon.com, with their “Super Saver” shipping, meaning if you buy anything over $25 dollars, they ship it free.     In the last quarter, that means Amazon lost $636 million in free shipping.     The Wall Street Journal put the web site to the test and hunted down the heaviest item they could find on Amazon, a $3,400 fire safe weighing over 1,500 pounds.    Amazon shipped it free – at a cost of almost $700 dollars.

2.)     Charleston is behind only one U.S. City for destination weddings, Las Vegas, Nevada.   Now, there’s a new place to tie the knot in Vegas.    Yesterday, Denny’s opened a new restaurant in Las Vegas that is one of only a handful of Denny’s that has a full bar.     Plus, this is the only Denny’s in the world that has a wedding chapel where couples can marry after enjoying their meal.
