1.)     Who will Governor Nikki Haley appoint to replace Senator Jim DeMint next month?    There’s a long list of potential replacements, but the most popular candidate on a Public Policy Poll isn’t likely to be named.   20% of those surveyed say they’d like to have Stephen Colbert represent the Palmetto State in the U.S. Senate.    The Comedy Central beat Representative Tim Scott who had 15% of the vote.   Former Governor Mark Sanford was preferred by 8% of those polled, but that left him 3 percentage points behind his ex-wife Jenny Sanford who was preferred by 11% of votes.     In fact, if you took Stephen Colbert out of the mix, Jenny Sanford would top the polls, with the support of 17% of those asked.

2.     There was a huge birthday party in Owasso, Oklahoma over the weekend for an 8 year old.      Chase Branscum couldn’t think of anything he wanted for his birthday, and he told his parents since he had toys and other kids don’t that he wanted to donate all his birthday present to Toys for Tots.     The owner of Red Dot Laser Tag in town heard about Chase’s request and decided to host a community party for Chase.    More than 100 people came and brought over 500 presents to the birthday boy, all of which Chase donated to needy children.

3.)     What is it about December 11th?     Researchers have looked at birth records and have discovered the most common birthday is September 16th.    If you do the math and go back 9 months, it would mean those babies were conceived on December 11th.    Experts believe there could be two reasons – one is that people are just more festive in mid-December.    The other is that the quality of the male’s contribution to the process is supposedly higher in colder weather.
