1.)     Is it because of the uniqueness of the date, or to make it very easy to remember your anniversary?     David’s Bridal took a survey and estimates that 7,500 couples will marry today.   That number is not as big as it might be, since the date fell on a Wednesday, unlike 10-10-10 which was on a Sunday, or 11-11-11 which fell on a Friday.    Another reason to marry today – this day is also good luck from a numerology standpoint.    According to an expert, the date, 12 + 12 + 2012, reduces to an 11 number. That translates into a high level of spiritual awareness. "  It also brings sensitivity and romance into the marriage."    After today, there won't be another triple date until January 1, 2101.

2.)     If you’re a parent, if not last night, there probably have been nights where you’ve been up in the middle of the night with your newborn.   So while your child is fussing and restless, what do you do?     The top activity of parents in this situation is reading, but the fastest growing option is on-line shopping.   Amazon reports a 78% growth in people buy baby stuff in the middle of the night over the past 12 months.   Watching TV, listening to music and catching up on work are the other things parents are doing when up with a child at night.

3.)     It’s been around for 126 years, but its long run will come to and end on January 1st.     Established in 1886, The Sporting News has been the dominant American publication covering baseball, but will cease publishing at the end of this year.      It will continue as an all-digital brand with its AOL-partnered website, as well as its iPad and Android apps.
