1.) If you haven’t looked at your credit report recently, you might want to consider taking a peek. The Federal Trade Commission has released a study showing one in five consumers had an error on their report. Five percent of people looking at their report were able to identify an error that could have lead to them paying more for mortgages, auto loans, or other financial products. About 20% of consumers found an error that was corrected by a reporting agency after they disputed it, and about 10% had their credit score changed after a reporting agency corrected errors in their reports. You can request a free copy of your credit report annually from the three major agencies - Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
2.) If you’re thinking about proposing this Valentine’s Day, it could get you free food. Fazoli’s has announced that if you get engaged at any of their restaurants, you and your bride to be will receive free spaghetti for a year. Plus, you’ll be entered in a drawing to win $500 dollars in Fazoli’s catering for your wedding reception, rehearsal dinner or shower. 3.) You can now use your American Express on Twitter. American Express customers who sync their cards to their Twitter accounts can buy items if they use the correct hashtag. The first such item, available now, is a $25 American Express gift card, which will go for $15 if you tweet #BuyAmexGiftCard25. Other offers will be rolled out this week -- including an Amazon Kindle Fire HD at a $50 discount.
