1.) Rather than remembering anything from his response speech to the President’s State of the Union address, most people are still talking about Marco Rubio’s infamous drink of water. Showing he has a sense of humor, and political smarts, the Florida senator has begun selling water bottles to benefit his political action committee, Reclaim America. Supporters have snapped up more than 3,100 bottles in exchange for donations of $25 or more. In just 5 days, Reclaim America has raised $100,000. The PAC’s pitch - "Send the liberal detractors a message that not only does Marco Rubio inspire you ... he hydrates you too."
2.) When disaster strikes and you need assistance, there’s an app for that. The Red Panic Button app will make the call for help. The app will send a text, e-mail or tweet with your exact GPS coordinates to a list of predetermined contacts. The Red Panic Button version for the Android app can also automatically dial 911. The GPS coordinates make it easier for emergency response teams to locate you. The app, by Ultimate Communication Software, is available in the iTunes store for $2.99.
3.) What’s the hottest fruit right now? It might be blueberries. The U.S. Blueberry Highbush Council says blueberry production and consumption has increased rather significantly over the past couple of decades. Most notably, between the recent years of 1995 and 2011, consumption of blueberries in America tripled, climbing from 283 million pounds to 853 million pounds in 2011.
