1.)     The economy is making things tough on you and me, but not everyone, as the number of billionaires world-wide increased by 210 over the past 12 months.      There are 1,426 billionaires in the world, with Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim topping the list with a net worth of $73 billion.      With a net worth of $67 billion, Bill Gates is 2nd on the list of the world’s richest billionaires.    .     Spanish fashion executive Amancio Ortega is third with $57 billion.    The United States is home to the most billionaires – 442.     138 of the people on this list are women.

2.)     It turns out alcohol doesn’t actually make people look more attractive, but instead switches off the part of our brain that handles impulse control.      That’s the conclusion of a study by the University of Durham.   When we're drunk, we still see people just as attractive or unattractive as we do when we're sober.    However, the alcohol doesn’t turn off the part of our brain responsible for sexual desire, so beer goggles don't make unattractive people look better . . . they just make us not care how they look.

3.)     Before you complain about your commute this morning, think about Santiago Munoz, a 14 year old New York City student who grabs a 5AM bus each morning which takes him to the subway he rides to Bronx High School of Science, one of the best schools in the country.    The trip takes an average of 2 ½ hours each morning, and the same coming home.       Munoz’s journey is being featured as part of a UN photo exhibit titled “Journeys to School” which also features a Brazilian student who rides a donkey school, and a girl in Kenya who walks two hours to get to class.
