1.)     Congratulations to West Virginia, the state that has won America’s obesity contest.     A new Gallup Wellbeing poll says 33.5 percent of the state’s residents are obese.    However, the good news for West Virginia is that’s down from 35.3 percent last year.   Following West Virginia were Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Alabama.    Colorado is ranked as the healthiest state with just 18.7 percent of its population obese.     Only 4 states had significant changes from last year with New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina getting fatter, and Delaware getting skinner.    South Carolina ranks 33rd on the list with 27.9 percent of Palmetto state residents considered obese.

2.)     Every wonder how much time you spend on your cell phone?    If you’re an average American, it’s close to a month each year.    A new study reports most people spend about 90 minutes a day texting, using apps, going online, checking e-mail and – on occasion, actually making a call.     That adds up to just under 23 days a year, meaning you could be spending 2 to 3 years of your life just staring at your phone.

3.)     Now, another reason to check through those boxes in your home or garage before throwing them out, or donating them at Goodwill.    In the attic of a cottage he purchased, a New York man found artworks by an obscure Armenian-American abstract impressionist.   Those works of art by Arthur Pinajian, have been appraised at $30 million. Some of the pieces already have sold for $500,000.
