1.) If you love French fries, you’ll be happy to hear about the “Mega Potato.” It’s more than three-quarters of a pound of fries, which is twice the size of the standard large fries, and will cost you about $5 dollars. It’s on the menu now at McDonalds – but not in the United States. Here in America, McDonald’s has eliminated their Super Size fries, but not around the world. The Mega Potato checks in at 1,142 calories … and is only available in Japan.
2.) How much would you pay to sit next to Leonardo DiCaprio? Last night in France, someone paid $1.5 million dollars. But this isn’t just any seat, as the winning bidder paid to sit next to DiCaprio on the Virgin Galactic, and travel into space. The trip was listed as a "once-in-a-lifetime trip to space with a mystery guest" on Richard Branson's fledgling space tourism fleet at a Cannes auction at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Charity dinner.
3.) A new Hootie and the Blowfish album and a year-long farewell tour? Darius Rucker has told the Hollywood Reporter that’s exactly what the band is considering. But, not any time soon. In an interview this week, Darius said that Hootie is considering a month long tour next year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their break through debut CD “Cracked Rear View. But, that one total year where they decide to do a record and a farewell tour is a couple years away. But when they do it, they want it to be a big deal. Unofficially, you can look for the annual Hootie Homegrown concert to take place this August at the Family Circle Stadium on Daniel Island.
