1.) Which do you think is better to use, the air dryers or paper towels in a public restroom? While the air dryers may be more environmentally friendly, paper towels are the superior method because they dry your hands more quickly than air dryers, and bacteria spreads more rapidly on wet hands. That’s the results of research done by an Australian scientist who says that it takes an air dryer about 30 seconds to achieve the same amount of dryness as a towel, but most people will spend less than 20 seconds drying their hands. And, if you are doing to use the air dryer, don’t rub your hands together while you do it, as that leads to spreading more bacteria.
2.) Within 10 years, we’ll be communicating with our pets. That’s according to a leading expert, Professor Con Slobodchikoff who claims to be developing new technology that interprets the calls of the prairie dog. He says the technology could eventually be used to interpret other animals. And, has suggested that the technology could one day be fine-tuned to enable humans to talk back to animals and engage in conversation.
3.) It happens to almost everyone – we lose something on vacation. What item is lost the most? According to the web site Travel Agent Central, it’s a camera. 32% of the almost 1700 people who participate in their survey lost their camera on vacation. A purse or wallet was next at 29% and sunglasses were 3rd at 27%. 4% of the people in the survey lost their passport, while 0.2% reported losing their child. However, all 4 of those people did end up find the lost child. Overall, about two out of five people who lost something on vacation say they ended up finding it.
