1.) If you're looking for the entrepreneurial spirit, head west. A new study discovered that people from Utah, Colorado, and Montana are most likely to be entrepreneurs. If you wonder why, the explanation is that the pioneers that settled in the west had that kind of personality and passed it down. So being from South Carolina, what can you do? Surround yourself with tough, driven personalities. Research shows you're most likely to become the people you hang with most.
2.) We’ve been taught from a young age that it’s all about teamwork. However, a new Ask.com survey of 2,060 adults finds that 89 percent of U.S. workers believe they are most productive when they’re working alone. Office distractions, such as loud colleagues and co-workers who stop by to chat can make that a challenge. So what can you do to be more productive? CNN Money contributor Anne Fisher suggests getting noise-canceling headphones. As anti-social as it may sound, investing in a good pair could help you realize substantial gains in productivity by drowning out office din.
3.) If you’re an overweight Dad, or Dad to be, the time has come for you to lose weight – if not for yourself, then for the sake of your children. Obese fathers who ate a high-fat diet were more likely to have offspring that also had a higher level of body fat — even if the youngsters were maintained on a healthy, lower fat diet. The effect was especially noticeable in the male offspring. The research out of Ohio State University isn't the best news for dads and future dads, but it seems to provide new evidence that a father's diet can have a significant effect on his children’s health.
