1.) The home of the Steelers is America’s Smartest City. At least that’s what the real estate blog Movoto has determined in their rankings. Using the criteria of colleges per capita, libraries per capita, the average education level, the amount of local media, museums per capita, and public school rankings, the blog has ranked the smartest cities in America. Following Pittsburgh in the top five are Orlando, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Honolulu. No South Carolina city made the top 50. Charlotte, North Carolina ranked 46th.
2.) This is the most dangerous time of the year for your cell phone. More people damage or lose their cell phone in the summer, with July the worst month, followed closely by June and August. July 4th is one of the toughest days of the year on cell phones. Claims for lost or damaged phones go up by 50% right after the Fourth. Water damage is the biggest threat to your phone during the summer. That's probably because 72% of people use their phones to listen to music at the pool or the beach. And 30% of people also use their phones to take vacation photos, so you risk losing your phone in a strange place.
3.) For years, we’ve toasted the bride and groom at a wedding with champagne. However, there’s now an alternative, particularly for beer lovers. Sam Adams is releasing “Brewlywed Ale,” a beer designed especially to celebrate the joys of matrimony. Unfortunately, you’ll have to be in Boston this morning to get your case. Only 300 cases of the Belgian-style ale will be sold. The first 20 people who show up in wedding attire will be moved to the front of the line to purchase Brewlywed Ale.
