1.) After you graduate from college, how long is it okay to still live with your parents? A Coldwell Banker Real Estate survey finds a generation gap in the answer to that question. Those aged 18 to 34 believe 5 years, which is almost twice as long as those 55 and older believe. The average American thinks that 4 years is too long to live at home after you complete college. And, 13% of adults in this survey responded that adult children should never live at home with their parents.
2.) Later today, teams from all over the world will compete here in the United States attempting to set a human-powered land speed record. The World Human Powered Speed Challenge takes place in Nevada. Teams use what look like custom built bicycles with special aerodynamic shells. The winner is attempting to break the current human-powered speed record which is 82.819 MPH, set in 2009.
3.) In our nation’s capitol, they’re pushing for a new mandatory 24-hour waiting period. According to a report in the Washington Post, the health department in Washington DC is pushing to add the waiting period for purchases of tattoos and piercings. A department official says the proposal is intended to protect consumers, but local artists are fighting the possible regulation saying that "overregulation will kill the profession and drive it underground, and make it less safe for everybody."
