1.) What is America’s favorite exercise? Something that is simple, solo and short. According to a new survey done by the watch company Timex, 77 percent of adults aged 24 to 44 say they prefer to work out alone. Running is the most popular type of exercise followed by lifting weights and then biking/hiking/outdoor activities. Also from the survey, 75 percent of people say they work out at least once a week. 61 percent don't exercise in a gym, and only 27 percent say they found time to get in a workout during the work day.
2.) If you’ve ever seen a movie in the 4-D theater at the South Carolina Aquarium, you know the effects include your seat vibrating in sync with the action on the screen. Now, you can experience that in your own home. The Tremor FX home system is bringing that technology right to your living room. These seats are wireless, and even come with a small wood-like tray for your drinks and snacks. A four-chair set of Tremor FX starts at $20,000.
3.) Tomorrow is the first day of October, time to start thinking about Halloween. If you’re trying to think of something healthy to give to the ghost and goblins that visit you on October 31st, there is some Halloween candy that is actually good for you. According to Marie Claire, consider handing out Starbursts, since they contain real fruit juice, and one package covers 50 percent of your daily vitamin C. Also Dark Chocolate Peanut M&Ms, as the nuts provide a dose of protein, while the dark chocolate offers antioxidants. Or, Raisinets, since raisins are one of the most nutritious dried fruits.
