1.) It seems as though people cannot resist touching a pregnant woman’s belly. You’ll need to control that urge from now on, at least in Pennsylvania. Following a harassment charge filed against a man in Cumberland County, home of Pennsylvania’s state capitol, who rubbed a pregnant woman’s belly without permission, the act is now illegal in the state. Under the law, touching a pregnant woman’s belly without her permission is considered harassment.
2.) The Stanley Hotel in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado is planning some renovations. The hotel is going to dig up an adjacent graveyard to make room for a new wedding pavilion. All this of would not be unusual, except the Stanley was the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel “The Shining,” which he wrote after staying in the hotel’s room 217. And, the cemetery is an animal cemetery, and King is also the author of the novel “Pet Sematary.”
3.) Pope Francis was tweeting over the weekend, celebrating a new milestone. The pontiff wrote on all of his nine accounts - each of which is in a different language - “Dear Followers I understand there are now over 10 million of you! I thank you with all my heart and ask you to continue praying for me." The 10 million followers mean the Pope is more popular than the New York Times, but just behind Kanye West. However, the pontiff is well behind Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga who have more than 40 million followers each.
