1.) Not only is a worldwide wine shortage happening, things are on track for it to get worse. Statistics compiled by Morgan Stanley Research show the world fell 300 million cases short of demand last year, the biggest in-the-red number in half a century. The reason - everyone is drinking more, especially the US and China, even as production is dropping. Bad weather in France and Argentina resulted in production being down 5% last year. The 2013 harvest will be much stronger, but experts warn that one solid year isn't going to matter much in the long run.
2.) Certainly all moms think their baby is special, but the baby boy born to Sara Brandon is extra special. Joel Brandon Jr. weighed in at 14 pounds at birth, making the Utah child the biggest baby born in the United States this year, a few ounces heavier than a Pennsylvania girl born in July who was 13 pounds, 12 ounces at birth. Joel Jr. is now four months old and is up to 23 pounds, putting him in the "150th percentile" for height and weight based on how he compares to normal charts.
3.) There’s always good, and interesting eatings at the Coastal Carolina Fair, which begins tomorrow. One thing you won’t be able to get at the fair is on the menu at PYT, a Philadelphia restaurant. The eatery was offering a sandwich that used deep fried, breaded lasagna as the bun. Their new burger is a bacon cheeseburger that uses deep fried twinkies as the bun. The burger sells for $12 dollars, but will only be on the menu for a limited time.
