Is there a 'How to' guide for NYC? Haha, some things I may have needed a little help with, like the whole subway thing, and negotiating merchandise in Chinatown. So much fun learning the system though. One of my friends from NC lives up there, and invited me to spend New Year's with her. I hitched a ride and arrived New Year's Eve at Laguardia then hailed a taxi (first time doing that, haha) to her apartment in Manhattan. Was I scared? Yeah, but I told myself, "Courtney, you're on an adventure, go get lost and explore...just have your mace on standby."
It was a good time though. I had a chance to see Time Square, even got interviewed by Fox 5 NYC. They asked me what the New Year would bring me, I said L-O-V-E. Haha, always optimistic about that one...I was thrilled the city still had their Christmas lights up everywhere...Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, the Empire State Building. So beautiful!
Of all the sites though, my favorite destination was eating at a place called Tom's Restaurant which was always featured as the hangout in Seinfeld. In the show it was called "Monk's Cafe." Inside there was Seinfeld memoribilia all over the walls, so cool for a big fan like me.

NYC Firefighter's...they let us come in and have cheesecake with them.
