A Public Policy Polling survey that was just recently completed asked people about animals, and here’s a few of the things that survey revealed:
- 52% of American voters prefer dogs, while just 21% prefer cats
- Americans are most scared of snakes, with 21% naming them the most frightening—just ahead of alligators at 19%.
- If choosing an "exotic" pet, 26% would choose a tiger, 20% a giraffe, and 18% a ... dinosaur.
- In a fight between a bear and a shark, the majority think a bear would win.
- Bambi is America's most popular movie animal, followed by Lassie, Garfield, Nemo, and Free Willy, respectively.

The story goes that Paul McCartney always enjoyed acting after doing the Beatles movies in the 60s. In the 1980s, he did his own movie, which included him, wife Linda, Ringo Starr and Ringo's wife (and former Bond girl) Barbara Bach, plus Bryan Brown (who you might remember from "The Thornbirds," or as Tom Cruises' bartending partner in "Cocktail"). A song from the soundtrack to that movie was one of McCartney's biggest hits of the decade, and on the occasion of his 71st birthday, is today's "Lost 80s Classic"
