It hasn't begun - at least not officially, but summer begins Friday morning at 1:04AM. So this is the final day of spring, and also American Eagle Day. The American bald eagle was removed from the nation's list of threatened and endangered species on June 28, 2007. After groups petitioned the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives for an annual holiday to celebrate the nation's mascot, both houses approved the idea in 2008, making June 20th (why not the 28th we have no idea) American Eagle Day.
